Research Interests

The maternal recognition of pregnancy (MRP) in the mare is not fully elucidated. Administration of exogenous oxytocin, has been shown to prolong the length of the luteal phase in mares, indicating that oxytocin is a key regulator of the MRP. However the regulation of oxytocin secretion and metabolism of oxytocin through  “oxytocinases” is unknown. Our research interest includes describing the tissue location and expression of oxytocin and different in “oxytocinases” in endometrial tissues.
