Research Area(s)
Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) is one of the most significant pathogens affecting the North American swine industry. PRRSV can result in reproductive failure in gilts and sows and decreased growth performance in nursery and feeder pigs.
My research, which is being carried out in Dr. Harding's lab, focuses on characterizing the host-pathogen interactions during infection, with a particular focus on endocrine dysregulation during infection of both fetal and nursery pigs.
