Employment opportunity: Small Animal Veterinarians
We are looking for two full time associate veterinarians to join our team of over 30 devoted pet care professionals. Preference will be given to seasoned applicants, but consideration will also be given to less experienced or new graduates. Our practice currently consists of seven DVMs who would be eager to share their knowledge and experience with you. We are looking for enthusiastic veterinarians with excellent communication skills, and the desire to learn and grow in their profession. The opportunity for eventual partnership exists for the right candidate.
Coastal Rivers Pet Hospital is open 365 days per year and operates with two to five DVM shifts per day. We believe in support staff and currently employ 7 veterinarians, 8 AHTs, 16 veterinary assistants/receptionists. There is always a minimum of one AHT on duty during every shift and doctors work with their own VOA during their shifts to facilitate record taking and examinations. We also believe in maintaining a work life balance; all our full-time vets work a four-day work week with no on call.
Our clinic’s accessibility provides our clients with greater patient and appointment flexibility; as a result, we receive an incredibly diverse and dynamic caseload. Located within forty minutes of veterinary emergency and specialist facilities, referral when required is simple. Our facility offers leading-edge diagnostics including HD digital modalities in ultrasound, radiography (regular and dental), and endoscopy. We are fully computerized (Cornerstone) and offer in-house laboratory, physical therapy, underwater treadmill, orthopedic surgery (fracture repair, TPLO, CBLO, FHO and more), PRP therapy and class IV LASER therapy. Furthermore, we are an AAHA accredited practice and hold both Cat-Friendly Practice and Fear Free Practice Certification.
We encourage continuing education for all our staff members, and support our vets with a generous CE allowance, and paid VIN memberships. Our practice also offers flexible medical and dental benefits plans to all employees. Lastly, we understand the cost associated with changing jobs, therefore, we offer a signing bonus for new veterinarians.
Our practice is located in Abbotsford, BC, Canada. Known as the “city in the country", Abbotsford benefits from better housing prices, less traffic, and greater access to outdoor recreation than nearby Vancouver. Our temperate rain forest climate is perfect for those who love to be surrounded by nature and greenery all year long as it is rarely too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter. Bordered by mountains in the East and the ocean to the West, Abbotsford is perfectly situated to experience the best of both worlds. We are also located on the edge of the Canada-USA border for easy access to the USA.
Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. We know that you love animals, but you also need to be able to communicate with your team, and pet guardians to get the job done.
Be willing to continue to learn and expand your knowledge. We are looking for a passionate individual who is willing to evolve their skills and keep up to date with new and current veterinary technology/information.
Be able to work in a collaborative manner; we encourage sharing ideas between veterinary and technical colleagues to find the best course of action for each patient.
Recognize the importance of self-care. You must be able to set boundaries and know your limits to maintain your emotional health.
Be available to work some evening, weekend, and holiday shifts during the year.
