St. Louis County Animal Care and Control is in need of full-time veterinary care, and we would love to get a new graduate on board.
St Louis County is in the top 5% in population size of the U.S. We cover over 500 square miles of territory to protect people and animals. Our program has had great improvement over the last year, we were able to adopt 727 animals, send 987 to rescue and our live release rate has been well over 90%. This puts our shelter in the no-kill category, which is an impressive accomplishment for government shelters that have an open intake.
Our facility has approximately 25,000 square feet, a surgical suite, digital x-ray and an ultrasound machine. We have one RVT working full-time (we are working on hiring two more) and an experienced part-time veterinarian who would be a great mentor.
We have two veterinarian positions open, offering competitive salary and benefits at https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/stlouis?keywords=veterinarian .
This is a unique opportunity for a new graduate to make their mark in a supportive environment.
