About the Clinic
Spirit was established in 1980 in the heart of West Allis, Wisconsin. Over the years we have created everlasting bonds with our clients which is why we have grown from a one doctor practice to a busy five doctor practice. We see cats, dogs, exotics and small furries, we have been voted Best Veterinary Clinic in Milwaukee on more than one occasion. We are a unique clinic in this day and age as we are still privately family owned. Our modern 4,400 square foot building is equipped with digital radiography, dental digital radiography, ultrasound, Sedivue urinalysis, IDEXX in-house laboratory, impromed software and cold laser. We have 5 examination rooms, 2 surgical suites, doctors office, separate staff room for lunches and meetings which is equipped with a television, comfortable sofa and a small kitchen.
From a workflow perspective, we operate on 20-minute appointment blocks and do not allow walk-ins.

Our Team
We currently have 6 technicians (including CVT’s), 2 veterinary assistants and 11 receptionists. We have a practice manager, who is also our 5th DVM and will occasionally see cases plus an office manager. Our team is hard-working, compassionate and will welcome you into our family-like atmosphere in the work place. The majority of our team members are full time, which ensures continuity and collaboration.

The location
Spirit of 76th Veterinary Clinic is located in a family friendly suburb of Milwaukee and only 7 miles from the heart of downtown Milwaukee. However, prefer the country? Simply head 10 miles West and you are in the beautiful Waukesha, Delafield, Pewaukee district.

The opportunity
We are looking to hire a full-time, part-time or relief Veterinarian as an additional doctor to join our 4 full-time veterinarians. This position has opened due to our steady, continued growth and not due to a departing DVM. We are very competitive with our compensation and offer a great benefits package.

Because we are privately owned, you will receive a sense of freedom, feel closeness to our team and be assured your voice will always be heard. These attributes which unfortunately, you cannot get with corporate practices. Whether you are a seasoned veterinarian or a new graduate you can be assured there will be a fantastic support system behind you at all times.

We understand that work-life balance is essential for your mental health which is why we offer a 4 day work week with only one late night per week! We also have no “on-call” and all after-hours emergencies are sent to one of the three surrounding ER clinics, all of which we have a great rapport with.

About you
We require applicants to be a DVM with a current license and in good standing with the state of Wisconsin. Regarding clinical experience, we are open to new graduates as well as seasoned veterinarians. However, we would love to connect with new graduates that we can mentor and help grow into successful, confident veterinarians. We are looking for someone compassionate, energetic and committed to practicing high-quality, evidence based medicine and surgery. We welcome veterinarians that have specific interests that we can use to expand our spectrum of services offered. Some of our current veterinarians perform ACL repairs, ultrasound guided biopsies and many more state of the art procedures that we would be delighted to teach incoming veterinarians. We do believe that continuing our education is important and we would be ecstatic to learn any new skills you may bring.
