Small Animal Veterinarian

Full-time or part-time - Stittsville, ON (Ottawa west)

Who we are looking for

Our clinic is seeking an expericnced and independent veterinarian with a passion for practicing quality small animal veterinary medicine and who is able to work with a high-level of autonomy.

Key qualifications:

• Registered to practice in Canada.
• Minimum 2 years of experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics.
• Team player with a positive attitude, an appreciation for good collaboration and attentiveness to the interests of patients and clients.
• Ability to solve problems and find innovative solutions for unexpected issues, as well as multi-task in stressful situations.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with colleagues, pet parents and community.

What we offer

• Competitive contract pay rates or full-time salary of $120,000 to $150,000 (depending on experience).
• 3 weeks of paid time off per year.
• Regular hours of work, Monday to Friday (closed on weekends).
• Full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
• Shifts of 8 hours with a 1-hour break at lunch time.

• Collaboration with Dr. Fischler, who has an expertise in breeding and long-term health, as well as anaesthesiology and cesarian sections in brachycephalic breeds.

About our clinic

We are a thriving, privately owned 1 1/2 small animal veterinary clinic located in the west end of Ottawa, where we have served the community for over 25 years. Our goal is to practice quality and progressive veterinary medicine and surgery in a friendly, supportive environment.

Many of our clients are long-term and repeat pet owners. They appreciate our close attention to the specific needs of their animals and our holistic approach to patient health, such as through nutrition and lifestyle management, and including geriatric care.

In addition to offering advanced in-house x-ray imaging and diagnostic tools, our clinic collaborates with a large local state-of-the-art specialty and emergency clinic that is available for referral. Ottawa is also home to one of the best diagnostic and surgical neurology centres in the country.
