Summer Student - Office Administration

Ministry: Agriculture, Livestock Branch, Veterinary Unit

City: Regina

The Veterinary Unit, Livestock Branch provides programming and services in meat inspection, food safey, disease surveillance and response, biosecurity, animal health and welfare, and game farm regulatory oversight.  We are seeking an individual to work with the unit in addressing various administrative and clerical functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with organizing events;
  • Assist with stakeholder correspondence and mail outs;
  • Taking stock of, and updating and ordering, brochure/pamphlets/fact sheets;
  • Assist with creating and updating surveillance programs records and tracking system;
  • Provide summary of datasets and generate short reports;
  • Organize and catalogue library/journals;
  • Catalogue and track articles and presentations;
  • Carry out activities related to cleanup and archiving of old files e.g. filing, shredding, and scanning documents into electronic format;
  • Assist other staff within the Livestock Branch as needed including, but not limited to:
    • Research/jurisdictional scans, compile summaries of legislation
    • Preparation, receipt and compilation of consultation documents
    • Review, update, create educational and resource material
    • Data entry
