Pembina Veterinary Hospital and Winnipeg Animal Emergency Hospital are looking for at least two to four 1st, 2nd or 3rd year vet students for summer employment. We have worked together to provide 24 hour care to small animals in Winnipeg and surrounding areas since 1973. We have at least one veterinarian and a registered veterinary technician on duty at all times.

We are seeking motivated, mature and positive vet students with a strong work ethic for a full-time summer position to join both our day practice and emergency practice. We are looking for team players who can work well with others and independently as required. It’s ideal if the applicants have small animal experience and if chosen for the positions, they will gain excellent on-the-job training and skill development. Since we are a 24 hour hospital, critical care nursing skills are helpful.

We are a well-equipped veterinary hospital with ICU oxygen kennels, digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy, state of the art diagnostic equipment, extensive anesthetic monitoring equipment and a broad selection of orthopedic equipment to support our diverse case load.

Our veterinarians are highly trained and have broad skill sets. Our clinics provide a wide-range of orthopedic and advanced soft-tissue surgeries including; fracture repairs, cora-based leveling osteotomies (CBLOs), patellar luxation correction, femoral head osteotomies (FHOs), hepatobiliary surgery, gastric dilation-volvulus surgery (GDV) in addition to the more routine surgeries. Also, we offer spinal manipulation, acupuncture, endoscopy, ultrasonography and canine rehabilitation.
