Bio Summary
Carmen received her Bachelor of Science (Animal Bioscience) degree in 2022 at the University of Saskatchewan. She discovered pig behaviour and welfare research in her final year of her undergraduate degree through a research thesis project with Dr. Yolande Seddon.
That experience led to a job as a research technician where Carmen gained experience assisting with various collaborative swine research projects for one year. Carmen is now completing her MSc degree program in swine welfare focusing on humane on-farm euthanasia for large swine.

Swine welfare. Specifically, Carmen is developing and validating a humane and user-friendly one-step electrocution technique for on-farm euthanasia of large swine.
