Bio Summary
Growing up on a cow-calf operation in central Saskatchewan inspired Morgan’s pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (Animal Science) degree and involvement in beef cattle research.
In 2021, she joined the Genomic ASSETS for Livestock Research Project as a summer research student co-supervised by Drs. Simon Otto (SPH, UAlberta) and Cheryl Waldner (WCVM). She continued with Dr. Waldner’s research group, completing multiple poster projects and an undergraduate research thesis in 2023 comparing bovine respiratory disease (BRD) sampling methods.
Morgan received further undergraduate research experience in applied cow-calf and forage management supported by an NSERC USRA supervised by Dr. Bart Lardner (AgBio, USask). She worked with the Lardner Lab until Spring 2024.
Morgan returned to the WCVM as a research assistant for the Canadian Cow-Calf Health and Productivity Enhancement Network in Fall 2024. She is now pursuing a Master of Science degree with a focus on beef cattle health. Her work is supervised by Dr. Waldner.
