Dr. Townsend lectures in veterinary internal medicine, is an adjunct professor in the Department of Community Health and Epidemiology at the Royal University Hospital and is a research scientist at the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization, University of Saskatchewan.

He is the editor of Horse Health Lines and associate editor (experimental design and statistics) of the Journal of Veterinary Internal Medicine.

Research Interests

Dr. Townsend's research interests include infectious disease epidemiology; public health; vaccine formulation, delivery and efficacy; and the immune response to infection.
