Dr. Gow was hired by the federal government as a veterinary epidemiologist in 2004, and her primary mandate is to work with producers, industry and government to build an on-farm antimicrobial resistance/antimicrobial use surveillance network. As a member of the PHAC that is housed within the WCVM, she also collaborates with researchers on topics pertaining to antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial use.

Dr. Gow works for the Public Health Agency of Canada (PAHC), Laboratory for Foodborne Zoonoses, Canadian Integrated Program for Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance (CIPARS). She is stationed in Saskatoon at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine. 

She received her degree in Agriculture in 1991, then worked as a veterinary pharmaceutical representative before being accepted into the WCVM. She graduated from the WCVM in 1997 and worked in mixed animal practice in both Alberta and Saskatchewan. Dr. Gow returned to the WCVM in 2001 to pursue a PhD in epidemiology. Her thesis focused on antimicrobial resistance and antimicrobial use in western Canadian cow-calf herds. In addition to her graduate work, Dr. Gow was also employed as a project veterinarian on a health and productivity study of western Canadian cow-calf herds.
