2026 Western Conference of Veterinary Diagnostic Pathologists (WCVDP)

The Western Conference of Veterinary Diagnostic Pathologists is a two-day, case-based meeting supported by the Western College of Veterinary Medicine's Department of Veterinary Pathology and Prairie Diagnostics Services, Inc.

The WCVDP brings together veterinary pathologists and trainees from Western Canada, the northwest United States and other locations to discuss interesting diagnostic material and share ideas on a related theme in veterinary pathology.

Theme: dermatopathology

Meeting dates: October 2-3, 2026

Location

  • In-person: Holiday Inn Express & Suites Saskatoon East-University, Saskatoon, SK, Canada  
  • Virtual: while in-person attendance is preferred, a virtual option is available upon request.

Moderators

Dr. Charles William Bradley, VMD, DACVP
Anatomic veterinary dermatopathologist

Dr. Charles W. Bradley is a board-certified veterinary anatomic pathologist and associate professor in the Department of Pathobiology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.

He earned his VMD degree from the University of Pennsylvania and subsequently completed a residency in anatomic pathology at the same institution. Dr. Bradley is actively involved in diagnostic pathology, teaching and resident training. 

Dr. Allison Foster, DVM, DACVD
Clinical veterinary dermatologist

Dr. Allison Foster is a board-certified veterinary dermatologist and assistant professor in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Saskatchewan.

She earned her DVM degree from Louisiana State University and completed residency training in veterinary dermatology through programs at Iowa State University and the University of Tennessee. Dr. Foster provides clinical dermatology services at the WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre and is actively involved in teaching and clinical training. 

Case submissions

We are seeking classical, diagnostically challenging or unsolved dermatopathology cases. Any pathological process is accepted (e.g. degenerative, infectious, inflammatory, developmental, genetic, neoplastic).

A list of submitted cases will be regularly updated

The submission deadline is June 1, 2026.  

A very limited number of slide boxes with the conference cases will be prepared and available for purchase. Please contact conference organizers in advance if you wish to purchase a slide box. Slides will also be scanned digitally and available to view for the registrants.

Trainees: best presentations will be awarded. Please indicate in the submission form if you are a trainee. 

Registration

Registration fee is C$250 per individual or C$500 per lab/academic unit. Please register before September 14, 2026.

We will accept payments via check prior or at the time of registration. Please complete the attached registration form and send it to bruce.wobeser@usask.ca.
