Diagnostic imaging internship

Position from July 15, 2025, to July 14, 2026

The internship

Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM)
University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada

The Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) is accepting applications for a one-year veterinary medical imaging internship. Applicants must have a DVM (or equivalent) and a one-year rotating internship or equivalent practice experience. Experience in medical imaging outside of undergraduate education is preferred but not required. The successful individual is expected to be highly motivated and have an interest in pursuing a veterinary radiology residency position.

The internship’s goals are to develop advanced skills in ultrasound and radiograph interpretation through involvement in the daily operations of a medical imaging specialty service. The intern will also gain exposure to CT, nuclear medicine (PET-CT), MRI and fluoroscopy in both small and large animals. There will be the opportunity to participate in faculty research projects as well as to perform clinical research and write a manuscript for publication. This internship is designed to provide the candidate with an advantage in the veterinary radiology residency application process. It will give the successful applicant knowledge and skills that will allow them to move into their residency education seamlessly.
