Research

Radiation therapy (RT) provides effective local control for many cancers, but limiting its side effects remains a challenge. Minibeam RT is a form of spatially fractionated RT that delivers alternating high-dose “peaks’ and low-dose “valleys” at submillimeter spacing, with the goal of sparing normal tissue while maintaining tumor control. My research project aims to compare the safety and efficacy of minibeam RT with conventional RT for hepatocellular carcinoma in the woodchuck, an established translational animal model for hepatitis B-induced hepatocellular carcinoma.
