She also completed another small animal internship in surgery and emergency medicine at ASEC in Los Angeles, Calif.

Dr. Milger spent four years working in Vancouver, B.C., mostly in emergency and referral hospitals such as Canada West Veterinary Specialists. To advance her language skills, Dr. Milger lived in Germany for seven years, teaching veterinary classes and coaching in English via Skype to foreign veterinarians who wanted to become licensed in North America.

After returning to Canada and working in a private referral hospital, Dr. Milger joined the WCVM faculty in fall 2024. She is a clinical lecturer in emergency medicine (small animals and exotics) at the WCVM where she is doing the two activities that she enjoys the most — treating animals and teaching students.
