Research Interests

Area of Study:  Parasite Ecology

My research aims to examine the assemblages of Echinococcus multilocularis and its various strains in Western Canada. Through an integration of field studies, ecological principles, and molecular techniques  we plan on looking at parasites within the definitive canid hosts, the rodent intermediate hosts, and the aberrant infections in canines and humans to determine what has been causing the recent rise in Canine alveolar echinococcosis (CAE) and human alveolar echinococcosis.
