Vetavision Q & A

Vetavision is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on both Friday, Sept. 20, and Saturday, Sept. 21.

Yes! Vetavision is open to all ages. Please keep in mind that this is a walking-intensive event. If you have little ones who may get tired, bringing a stroller is a good idea!

Vetavision is geared toward children and families, so we think that most kids would enjoy it!

If you have children who want to be biologists, scientists, veterinarians, veterinary technologists, it's a great chance for them to learn more about these types of careers. Or if your kids just love animals, they especially will enjoy this event!

There will be no food or drinks for sale at Vetavision 2024. Please bring your own snacks and water/drinks for your family members.

Please note: the WCVM has water fountains that are equipped with bottle refilling stations.

Vetavision will get you up close and personal with a wide variety of furry and feathered friends. Please keep this in mind if you or any family members have animal-associated allergies.
Our animal pens can also be dusty with dirt, sand, hay and other potential allergens, so if you have environmental allergies or asthma, please keep this in mind!
If you expect that allergies will be a problem, please bring your medications, a mask, water bottle or whatever else you need!

Vetavision has sections both inside and outside buildings, so we recommend that you dress in layers!

Vetavision — like veterinary medicine — isn’t always clean and tidy. Wear clothing that you won't mind if it gets a bit dusty or dirty.

Wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes. Expect to do a fair bit of walking!

Vetavision is a fun and diverse event, so come prepared! Here are some items that we suggest bringing?

  • snacks and water (no food or drinks will be available for sale at Vetavision)
  • a sweater if the forecast calls for cooler weather or sunscreen/hat if it’s going to be sunny
  • your phone/camera to capture memories!

This special evening is a chance for high school and university students to learn more about a career in veterinary medicine and the admissions process from current WCVM veterinary students and the college's admissions team.

This year, the WCVM Pre-Vet Night takes place from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, in Room 2302 at the WCVM. Please note: registration for the WCVM Pre-Vet Night is now closed.

For more details and the full schedule, visit the "Pre-Vet Night" section below.

No. For the safety of your animal and the many animals at this event, no outside animals will be allowed to attend — with the exception of certified service animals. You will not be allowed to enter Vetavision if you bring your own animals.

PLEASE NOTE: if your service animal is reacting poorly to the wide variety of animal exhibits, we ask that you avoid those booths including animals for the safety of you, your service animal and all animals in the Vetavision exhibits.
