About

On Saturday, November 23, the One Health Signature Area Lead will host the University of Saskatchewan's first symposium to connect interdisciplinary researchers on campus.

One Health addresses the interconnectedness between human, animal and environmental health with an understanding that one cannot progress at the cost of others. Respecting these intersections, the University of Saskatchewan's (USask) One Health Signature Area of Research is working to combat global health threats at all scales through proactive, innovative and transdisciplinary approaches.

Combining expertise and resources from human and veterinary medicine, environmental sciences and agriculture, USask is driving responses to emerging health threats that the world needs.

Through this symposium, we aim to connect trainees and faculty on campus who work on One Health-related research. This symposium is student-focused, providing trainees an opportunity to present their research and to network with others involved in One Health research.

Be a Sponsor

This one-day event will provide a forum for USask students and researchers on campus to discuss recent advancements in the field and to foster exchanges and multidisciplinary collaborations. We aim to have talks on the following topics:

  • disease surveillance
  • investigation of emerging human and animal pathogens
  • development of diagnostics, therapies and vaccines
  • investigation of the underlying ecological and social determinants of health and disease
Being trainee-focused, this symposium will provide USask trainees the chance to present and build connections with individuals from various research disciplines.

By sponsoring this event, you will gain exposure and provide necessary support to USask scientists from across campus who attend this meeting. We hope that this symposium will influence advancements and collaborations that are necessary to further One Health research.

As this is a small event, any donation will help make our inaugural symposium a success! Thank you for considering our invitation. We look forward to the possibility of working together to support One Health researchers at USask.
