Profile

Wendy Medved LaPointe is the interim director of health services and business operations at the WCVM Veterinary Medical Centre (VMC). Wendy is responsible for managing all aspects of quality, excellence, risk reduction and safety in finance, business and operations within the VMC in support of the WCVM's mission of patient care, student learning and discovery. This position provides direction and oversight for services provided by the manager of the Large Animal Clinic and Pharmacy, as well as the manager, business, finance and support services.

Before joining the VMC, Wendy spent five years at the Saskatchewan Health Authority where she served as manager for safety reporting and response as well as manager for patient safety and client concerns for integrated rural health.

Wendy has over 15 years of experience working in quality and safety and health system performance in progressively senior roles in the human health care sector both in Saskatchewan and Ontario. Her early career involved academic research in family medicine and public health. She brings with her a wealth of experience in leadership, stakeholder engagement, project management and system improvement.
