Looking for a student for a full time position (part time would be considered too) for the summer. Any year will be considered. There would be opportunity to get surgery and medicine experience as well as lots of catheters, blood draws, endotracheal intubation. Extra time would be booked for surgeries to allow this. Pay would be dependent on skills and experience. Must be available for 8 hr shifts 5 days a week (Monday to Friday).
We are a mobile small animal (cats/dogs only) clinic centered around Brandon, MB. Must be punctual and able to follow directions and be efficient and reliable! Interest in Low stress handling or fear free would be a huge asset. We have digital x-ray, surgery suite (do routine surgeries on cats/dogs under 20kgs), and in house blood machines. Must be able to help carry/lift large dogs as we do a lot of in home euthanasias. Due to travel etc sometimes overtime is required but it isn’t excessive. Occasional help on weekends/evenings with after hours calls would be helpful but not mandatory.
We value work-life balance. We have wonderful clients who are very kind and thankful. We do not tolerate abusive clients 🙂 We have a receptionist that works in clinic part time and at home part time. She is very fun and pleasant to work with and we try to have fun while getting our work done. If receptionist takes holidays you would also be required to fill in for her as well. Good communication skills, pleasant and kind personality would be a big asset! I aim to provide and highly value a happy and positive work place! Supplies/services for up to 3 pets offered at cost.
