Bio Summary

Suren Alawaththa is from Colombo-Sri Lanka. After completing secondary education, he attended the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka, where he completed his bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine in 2022.

After graduation, Dr. Suren joined the same faculty as a temporary assistant lecturer until he left for his master's program. At the University of Saskatchewan, his research focuses on evaluating Clostridium perfringenstype D vaccine protocols in sheep.

Research Area(s)

Clostridium (C.) perfringens are toxin-producing anaerobic bacteria of variable biotypes that cause various important diseases in humans and animals. The main aim of this research is to establish the best vaccine schedule in the sheep farming industry against C.perfringens.
